Looking at everything around us...
I feel blessed. I thank GOD for giving me great friends as well as people who love me. Sometimes i even feel guilty of being so blessed... There are others who deserve these blessings more than me... I wish i have this "magic piggy bank" that i can store up all these blessings so that i can share them with the less fortunate.
Alas, for now i'll just have to keep loving others as taught by my King. My destiny, who knows? Except He that created me. Let Him guide my paths that i would serve my purpose in this part of the world in this era of history...Let me be part of the jigsaw puzzle that completes the whole picture, a picture of Hope everlasting.
Let the King's will be done on earth and heaven

THE MAYONNAISE JAR AND COFFEE
THE MAYONNAISE JAR AND COFFEE
When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24
hours in a day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar...and the
coffee... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front
of him. When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very large and
empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls.
He then asked the students if the jar was full.
They agreed that it was.
So the professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into
the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas
between the golf balls.
He then asked the students again if the jar was full.
They agreed it was.
The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of
course, the sand filled up everything else.
He asked once more if the jar was full.
The students responded with an unanimous "yes."
The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and
poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively filling the empty
space between the sand.
The students laughed.
"Now," said the professor, as the laughter subsided, "I want you to
recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the
important things-your God, family, your children, your health, your
friends, and your favorite passions. Things that if everything else was
lost and only they remained, your life would still be full. The pebbles
are the other things that matter, like your job, your house, and your car.
The sand is everything else--the small stuff.
"If you put the sand into the jar first," he continued, "there is no room
for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life. If you spend
all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for
the things that are important to you. Pay attention to the things that are
critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Take time to get
medical checkups. Take your partner out to dinner. Play another 18. There
will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal."
"Take care of the golf balls first, the things that really matter.
Set your priorities. The rest is just sand."
One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee
represented.
The professor smiled. "I'm glad you asked. It just goes to show you
that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a
couple of coffee with a friend."
Attitude
Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. Itis more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think orsay or do. It is more important than appearances, giftedness, or skill. It will make or break a company...a church...a home.
The remarkable thing is we have a choice everydayregarding the attitude we will embrace for that day.We cannot change our past...we cannot change the fact that some people will act in a certain way.The only thing we can do is to play on the one string that we have, and that is our attitude...
I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and the 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you...we are in charge of our attitudes.

the invitation
The invitation
“It doesn’t interest me what you do for a living. I want to know what you ache for, and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart’s longing.
It doesn’t interest me how old you are, I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool for love, for your dreams, for the adventure of being.
It doesn’t interest me what planets are squaring your moon. I want to know if you have touched the centre of your own sorrow, if you have been opened by life’s betrayals or have become shriveled and closed from fear of further pain. I want to know if you can sit with pain, mine or your own, without moving to hide it or fade it or fix it. I want to know if you can be with wildness and let the ecstasy fill you to the tips of your fingers and toes without cautioning us to be careful, be realistic, or to remember the limitations of being human.
It doesn’t interest me if the story you’re telling me is true. I want to know if you can disappoint another to be true to yourself; if you can bear the accusations of betrayal and not betray your own soul. I want to know if you can be faithful and therefore be trustworthy. I want to know if you can see the beauty even when it is not pretty everyday, and if you can source your life from ITS presence. I want to know if you can live with failure, yours and mine, and still stand on the edge of a lake and shout to the silver of the full moon, Oh Yes!
It doesn’t interest me to know where you live or how much money you have. I want to know if you can get up after the night of grief and despair, weary and bruised to the bone, and do what needs to be done for the children.
Ii doesn’t interest me who you are, or how you came to be here. I want to know if you will stand in the centre of the fire with me and not shrink back.
It doesn’t interest me where or what or with whom you have studied. I want to know what sustains you from the inside when all else fails away. I want to know if you can be alone with yourself and if you truly like the company you keep in the empty moments.”
student vs teacher
A good story to ponder :-)
If you have read this before read it again and enjoy the wisdom of a man of God.
An atheist professor of philosophy speaks to his class on the problem science has with God, The Almighty. He asks one of his new Religious students to stand and.....
Professor: You are religious, aren't you, son?
Student : Yes, sir.
Prof: So you believe in God?
Student : Absolutely, sir.
Prof: Is God good?
Student : Sure.
Prof: Is God all-powerful?
Student : Yes.
Prof: My brother died of cancer even though he prayed to God to heal him. Most of us would attempt to help others who are ill. But God didn't. How is this God good then? Hmm?
(Student is silent.)
Prof: You can't answer, can you? Let's start again, young fella.
Is God good?
Student :Yes.
Prof: Is Satan good?
Student : No.
Prof: Where does Satan come from?
Student : From...God...
Prof: That's right. Tell me son, is there evil in this world?
Student : Yes.
Prof: Evil is everywhere, isn't it? And God did make everything, correct?
Student : Yes.
Prof: So who created evil?
(Student does not answer.)
Prof: Is there sickness? Immorality? Hatred? Ugliness? All these terrible things exist in the world, don't they?
Student :Yes, sir.
Prof: So, who created them?
(Student has no answer.)
Prof: Science says you have 5 senses you use to identify and observe the world around you. Tell me, son...Have you ever seen God?
Student : No, sir.
Prof: Tell us if you have ever heard your God?
Student : No , sir.
Prof: Have you ever felt your God, tasted your God, smelt your God? Have you ever had any sensory perception of God for that matter?
Student : No, sir. I'm afraid I haven't.
Prof: Yet you still believe in Him?
Student : Yes.
Prof: According to empirical, testable, demonstrable protocol, science says your GOD doesn't exist. What do you say to that, son?
Student : Nothing. I only have my faith.
Prof: Yes. Faith. And that is the problem science has.
Student : Professor, is there such a thing as heat?
Prof: Yes.
Student : And is there such a thing as cold?
Prof: Yes.
Student : No sir. There isn't.
(The lecture theatre becomes very quiet with this turn of events.)
Student : Sir, you can have lots of heat, even more heat, superheat, mega heat, white heat, a little heat or no heat. But we don't have anything called cold. We can hit 458 degrees below zero which is no heat, but we can't go any further after that. There is no such thing as cold. Cold is only a word we use to describe the absence of heat. We cannot measure cold.Heat is energy. Cold is not the opposite of heat, sir, just the absence of it.
(There is pin-drop silence in the lecture theatre.)
Student : What about darkness, Professor? Is there such a thing as darkness?
Prof: Yes. What is night if there isn't darkness?
Student : You're wrong again, sir. Darkness is the absence of something. You can have low light, normal light, bright light, flashing light....But if you have no light constantly, you have nothing and it's called darkness, isn't it? In reality, darkness isn't. If it were you would be able to make darkness darker, wouldn't you?
Prof: So what is the point you are making, young man?
Student : Sir, my point is your philosophical premise is flawed.
Prof: Flawed? Can you explain how?
Student : Sir, you are working on the premise of duality. You argue there is life and then there is death, a good God and a bad God. You are viewing the concept of God as something finite, something we can measure. Sir, science can't even explain a thought. It uses electricity and magnetism, but has never seen, much less fully understood either one.. To view death as the opposite of life is to be ignorant of the fact that death cannot exist as a substantive thing. Death is not the opposite of life; just the absence of it. Now tell me, Professor. Do you teach your students that they evolved from a monkey?
Prof: If you are referring to the natural evolutionary process, yes, of course, I do.
Student : Have you ever observed evolution with your own eyes, sir?
(The Professor shakes his head with a smile, beginning to realize where the argument is going.)
Student : Since no one has ever observed the process of evolution at work and cannot even prove that this process is an on-going endeavour, are you not teaching your opinion, sir? Are you not a scientist but a preacher?
(The class is in uproar.)
Student : Is there anyone in the class who has ever seen the Professor's brain?
(The class breaks out into laughter.)
Student : Is there anyone here who has ever heard the Professor's brain, felt it, touched or smelt it? No one appears to have done so. So, according to the established rules of empirical, stable, demonstrable protocol, science says that you have no brain, sir. With all due respect, sir, how do we then trust your lectures, sir?
(The room is silent. The professor stares at the student, his face unfathomable.)
Prof: I guess you'll have to take them on faith, son.
Student : That is it sir.. The link between man & God is FAITH. That is all that keeps things moving & alive. Happiness keeps you sweet, Trials keep you strong, Sorrows keep you human, Failures keeps you humble, Success keeps you glowing, But only God Keeps you going!
Christian Pop Music 2
------------------------------------------------------------------------Pop-Idiom Music in Worship and Evangelism (part 2) God hates pride and exhibitionism In worship, and in the presentation of the Gospel, all the glory must be the Lord’s. The clear principle of the Scripture is that truly Spirit-filled ministry is God-centred, modest and non-exhibitionist- For we have not heralded ourselves, but Christ as Lord (2Cor 4:5) … He must increase, but I must decrease (John 3:30)…No flesh should glory in his presence (1 Cor 1:29), for God has said, my glory I will not give to another (Isaiah 42: 8). Pop-idiom methods are undoubtedly saturated with exhibitionism. It is heartbreaking to see youngsters (some of whom undoubtedly have true faith) being encouraged by pastors and Christian leaders to imitate secular performers in the way they draw attention to themselves, bow for applause, and preen (to be very pleased with yourself) themselves for adulation (praise and admiration for someone that is more than they really deserve). Professing believers are encouraged to be conceited (an attitude that shows you have too high an opinion of your own abilities or importance) and vain, and to relish (great enjoyment of something) the flattery of this world. The bible says that young believers should not be commissioned easily and quickly for the proclamation of the Gospel because of the great temptation to become puffed up, yet here we have a most destructive form of personal showmanship pressed upon the youngest Christians in church youth activities etc. Speaking about how we must draw near to God the epistle of James says – God resist the proud, but gives grace to the humble (James 4:6). This is one of a very large number of scriptures (including the magnificat) emphasizing that God deals with and uses the humble spirit. God resists the proud. In other words if the ego is inflamed, if we are admiring ourselves or our art and abilities, or if we are hoping to be noticed and applauded by other people – then God will resist us. He will not bless our witness either. He will withdraw from us and deal with us as He dealt with Cain of old. No flesh may glory in the presence of Almighty God. No person may at the same time worship God and vaunt himself. In true worship all individualism must recede into the background. A believer in Christ must never adopt, imitate, revel in (to enjoy something very much, especially praise, popularity, or something that other people do not expect you to enjoy), or give himself to the vain exhibitionism of this passing world. The simple musical aids which God trusts His people to use with discretion should never have been distorted into a means by which people are admired for their ‘performances’ and their beautiful voices and gifts are praised. What about the gifted? Sometimes people say, “But if it is not right to have special music and the singing of many solos, what will happen to those very special Christians who have been gifted with beautiful voices and wonderful musical ability?’ Such questions are often asked in a tone of amazement, as though it is unthinkable that such gifts should not be put on public display. What is to be done with the person who has such very special gifts? But let us answer the question with another question: what shall we do about the person with a special gift to play cricket or rugby? What shall we do for the gifted cook, or the gifted mathematician? Everyone has a special gift for something, but all our capabilities cannot be employed in direct spiritual worship. We must always watch out for the human tendency to magnify the flesh, to esteem men, to serve the ego; and to be lovers of their own selves…boasters, proud…lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God (2 Tim 3:2-4). (Analysis by Dr Peter Masters)
The burden of this booklet is the widespread use of pop-idiom music in Christianworship and witness. Its appeal is not concerned with the more extreme manifestations of pop-Gospel music, which most Christians rule out as utterly carnal in character, but with the more modified, mellow kind which is performed and encouraged by many sincere believers. Various arguments are presented in the hope that these evangelicals will reconsider their use of pop-idiom music. The use of pop-idiom music is shown to conflict with eight important principles taught in God's Word, and special attention is given to the use of instruments inthe worship of Old testament times. -Peter Masters------------------------------------------------------------------------ Pop-Idiom Music in Worship and Evangelism (part 2) God hates pride and exhibitionism In worship, and in the presentation of the Gospel, all the glory must be the Lord’s. Christian Pop Music part 1
Pop-Idiom Music in Worship and Evangelism (part 1)
Evangelism must be direct and spiritual
The bible insists that the Gospel is to be conveyed by a clear, intelligent and persuasive presentation of Gospel facts, for it pleases God ‘by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.’ (See 1 Corinthians 1.21-31)
The Lord Himself, and the apostles, proclaimed the Gospel both in public and personal witness using spoken, forthright, factual communication, and Paul left clear instructions that for success in this work, we must strive lawfully (2Tim2.5)
By what authority then, do we turn the Gospel of Redeeming Grace into a matter of entertainment and worldly music? Is it biblically lawful?
Not only are we without biblical authority for such a policy, but it is an absurdly inappropriate method of witness because modern, musical, secular entertainment is a completely unnatural and unsuitable medium for any serious subject. If we miss the ethical principle, even common sense should steer us away from it.
The unsuitability of pop-idiom for serious, factual communication can be seen from the way in which even worldly organizations reject it for the most serious and important issues of life. Can we imagine a senior Cabinet Minister giving a party political broadcast in which, instead of speaking, he sang the substance of his message, adopting the convulsive body and head-tossing movements of a pop vocalist, and backed by a hip-swinging group?
Would his message communicate more effectively on account of such a presentation or would one be sickened and appalled at the utterly trivial and inappropriate nature of what was being done?
Supposing a class of university students entered a lecture theatre to find several members of the faculty crooning their material accompanied by guitars and drums. The idea is ridiculous because no serious communication in any walk of life is carried out by such bizarre and unnatural methods.
To continue these nightmare illustrations-is it conceivable that the world might one day be launched into full-scale nuclear war with the President of the USA appearing on television and gravely singing the news to blues music?
Would a doctor, confronted by an apprehensive patient, break the news that he is suffering from a fatal disorder by adopting the posture of a pop star and singing the diagnosis?
Entertainment is unreal.
Such scenes are unthinkable but they demonstrate the folly of reducing God’s message and God’s warnings to the unreal entertainment methods of this vain world.
We have to present the most serious message of all, the call of God to be saved from everlasting hell and damnation. Surely we have lost our balance and our grasp of the significance of our message to think it can be sung to pop songs?
A few secular pop-stars who are ‘message-orientated’ have enjoyed some success in swaying young people (at a somewhat temporary and sentimental level) to believe that peace is better than war and love is better that hate. General concepts like these can certainly be communicated via entertainment so long as hearers find them congenial, and providing they require no immediate, practical (or painful) response. But serious, urgent and unwelcome demands are never communicated by pop-singing anywhere in the real world. Therefore it is not surprising that the performances of Gospel ‘groups’ make no impact on the conscience of the rising generation.
Entertainment is entertainment and is therefore not taken seriously by the public. If we adopt entertainment-type music and sing the Gospel, it obviously will not make any real moral demand upon the hearers. The message is bound to be cheapened, trivialized and emptied of its importance.
We must always remember that the New Testament requires a pure, clear, forthright, intelligent and persuasive presentation of the character of God, the desperate plight of man, and the amazing grace of the Gospel, for these are the issues of life and death.
Gospel witness must consist of spiritual words directed to the minds of men and blessed to their understanding by the power of the Holy Spirit. Human artistry cannot and must not attempt to take over spiritual work.
Gospel-pop singers will never be humbled and awed by the power and the majesty of God, nor will they feel the convicting burden and weight of God’s holy and righteous demands. They will not sense the breadth and length and depth and height of God’s grace, nor catch even a hint of that mighty love which passes knowledge.
The power of rhythm, the music and movement, the lights and costumes; these are the attractions, and they are incapable of representing the infinite holiness and mercy of God. There is no power here to open the eyes of a lost generation and to make it feel that ‘ancient touch’ of God.
Throughout the Bible the preeminent method of proclaiming spiritual truth is by the spoken word, whether fervently preached or earnestly spoken in personal witness. In their worship the people of God of Bible times frequently burst into song, but in their witness we see the primacy of preaching.
Biblical communication
Did the prophets of old sing or preach their great evangelistic appeals? What did the Saviour do? How did Peter herald the Gospel on the Day of Pentecost? What manner of communication did Paul employ on Mars Hill? Everywhere, always, page after page of Scripture points us to the spoken word, for – it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. (1 Corinthians 1:21)
If we in our evangelistic gatherings create the atmosphere of a concert and offer the thrill and pleasure of entertainment, how can we then preach with the authority of Heaven the holiness of God, the desperate spiritual bankruptcy and rebellion of man, and the melting love and dying agonies of an atoning Saviour?
If we borrow the ‘clothing’ of the world to please the crowd, how can we paint in vivid colors the stark contrast between this carnal, fallen, evil, doomed world-system and the spiritual Kingdom of God?
Today’s pop-idiom contains so much which is sensual, fleshly, and sexually suggestive. It is largely about touch, exposure and body movement, and is therefore utterly out of character with the communicating of a spiritual message.
To use pop-idiom music and all its attendant gimmicks is to place a hidden straightjacket on the full proclamation of the Gospel and the works of the Holy Spirit. In such an atmosphere, no ambassador or messenger of the Cross can ever function freely and powerfully.
The basis of all pop-idiom evangelistic is a lack of faith and trust in the power of the Spirit of God to make effective and powerful the straightforward New Testament pattern of preaching and witness. The flesh wants to add something else (just as some of the preachers of Paul’s day felt that the Gospel needed some worldly wisdom added to it).
We may adapt the apostle’s words in 1 Corinthians 2:4 to read: My speech and my preaching was not with the enticing sounds of man’s current music, but in demonstration of the Spirit and power.’
So it must be if we are to worthily represent the Lord, and be fit instruments for real blessing.
(For what does it profiteth a man if he gain the whole world, and yet loses his own soul? The things that matters in this world are not actually visible...and the things that are visible in this world, dun actually matter frankly. My Father's Kingdom is invisible to the eyes of the world n they just wont believe till they see...Heaven is a place where His children will dwell in eternity with Him.All He ask is that you will receive Him as your Lord and saviour,"For God so loved the world that He giveth His only begotten son that whoever believes in Him will not die but have everlasting life"…instead of eternal condemnation in hell through the sins that the first Adam brought to the whole human race. )
Modern Time Deception
This letter addresses certain disparity among the different bible versions we have in the world today…and my thoughts and concerns as well as doubts about their credibility in presenting the true Word of God to the masses.
But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
(KJV)Gal 1:8, 9
Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
(KJV)Mathew 7:15
My stand on strictly using the KJV and not other bible translations
1. KJV (King James Version) comes out from the Reformation in the 16th century. For about 300 years only this translation is used, before other translations start to appear exponentially in recent times.
2. The KJV is translated by 16th century martyrs who gave their lives to translate the Word of God from Hebrew to English. One of them, William Tingdale, was caught in 1536 by a spy. His last words before his death at the fiery stake was: That my people will be able to read the bible in English. As opposed to this, bible translators of recent times translate the bible at the comfort of their dwellings, some of whom their salvations are even questionable. Recent and modern bibles are also copyrighted. As far as I know of, only KJV is not copyrighted. As for the implications of the copyright, I leave it to you readers to think for yourselves :)
3. The KJV translators use the “Formal Equivalence” technique to translate the bible. Modern translators use the technique of “Dynamic Equivalence”.(This is very significant indeed, due to my lack of time, I shall address this in my future letters)
4. Vital doctrinal issues are challenged in the other translations. Basically, the issues challenged are: Jesus’ work of redemption, His eternal pre-existence, His deity, His sonship of God, His virgin birth, His resurrection, His ascension and His return. I shall give a few examples of this below.
I believe many of us would think: How could this be? I have been using so-and-so bible translation and it has blessed my life all these while and now you are saying that my bible is erroneous? Who are you to make that kind of statement? Have you been to a bible school before? So why should I listen to you?
Well, my letter is just to address my concerns and thoughts over the issues that have been addressed in my church and I find it important that every Christian should be informed about it. My analogy to this issue is this: Just as counterfeit money looks all right from the outside, and it looks exactly the same as the original…does that mean that it’s authentic? What would the authorities do if they find us with the counterfeit money?
Likewise bible versions and their translations.
Another analogy is: Let’s say we are sick and we see a doctor. The doctor gives us medicine prescriptions to take so that we may be healed of our sickness after taking the prescription. Now just by shifting a dot to move the decimal place (in milligrams for example) or accidentally adding or subtracting a zero to the medicine prescription could mean a life and death issue to the patients…
Likewise bible version and their translations.
Now what does the bible say regarding the word of God?
But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
Mt4:4
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
Isaiah 55:8
Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
1 corinthians 1:25
For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled
Mt5:18
Now another name for the bible is The Word of God, now under what authority are we able to change it to our own liking? Based on our logic or “common sense”? Using the Dynamic Equivalence technique to twist and turn the Word of God? I am aware of many preachers today who have certain ideas in their minds of what they want the church members to believe…now they have no authority to force their opinions on others, cant they? So what they did is based on their “spiritual revelations” they call it, they reinforce their human wisdom by searching for verses in the bible which fits their idea …it’s a win-win situation for them and their excuse for this when confronted is: IT’S THE WORD OF GOD! ITS WRITTEN THERE SEE IT FOR YOURSELF…How naïve indeed, without even looking at the context from which that verse is drawn. This is self-deception that will face the wrath of God in time to come. For the easiest person to deceive is but ourselves indeed…we choose what to believe. How should I put it? It’s likened to an ostrich….ostriches bury their heads into the ground when danger comes, thinking that they would be safe.
Enough for now, let me catch my breaths and show you something interesting.
John 17:5 (Addressing self-glorification issue)
KJV: O Father glorify thou me with thine own self.
NIV: Father glorify me in your presence.
John 9:35 (Addressing Jesus’ deity)
KJV: Dost thou believe in the son of God?
NIV: Dost thou believe in the son of Man?
Acts 3:13 (Addressing Sonship of Jesus)
KJV: The God of our fathers hath glorified His son Jesus
NIV: The God our fathers has glorify His servant Jesus
Lk2:33 (Addressing Virgin birth of Christ)
KJV: And Joseph and His mother marveled
NIV: The child’s father and mother marveled
Mt25:13 (Addressing Jesus’ 2nd coming)
KJV: watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour whereon the Son of Man cometh
NIV: Therefore keep watch because you do not know the day or the hour. (Of what?)
NIV is leavened with the leaven of unbelief. And newly born again Christians must not be led astray by wolves in sheep’s’ skin….
“But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed….”
Thrashy Christian music
Taken from “THE KIND OF MUSIC THAT HONOURS GOD-IV”
Much modern religious music is man-centered.
it is experience-oriented.
Popular texts also demonstrate the pervading influence of existentialism. The expression of the feeling of the moment, the emphasis on physical sensation, and even the deliberate incompleteness of the songs with their predictable ‘fade out’ endings carry us into a physical and emotional euphoria that is not anchored on Scriptural principle and doctrine (Dwight Gustafson, “Should Sacred Music Swing?”, Faith For the Family, January/February, 1975,p.5).
Sunday school pupils have often blared out the little ditty:
O, I feel so good, I feel brand new,
O, I wonder if you feel so too.
Contrast this with the great hymn by Bernard:
Jesus, the very thought of Thee
With sweetness fills my breast,
But sweeter far Thy face to see
And in thy presence rest.
Not only the words, but the “beat” of many modern songs tend to draw attention away from the Lord and to the “performer.” Professing Christian entertainers copy the mannerisms of their secular counterparts, swinging, swaying, hollering into microphones, and generally presenting themselves as cheap imitations if the godless “artists.”
Lovingly in the Lord
Failure
We naturally move towards positive goals and intuitively away from negative goals. We are pleasure-seeking organisms who seek pleasure and avoid pain. Lose, quit, and stop are all negative goals.
So why do we ever get involved in these negative goal programs in the first place? Typically, it is a negative emotion such as fear or anger. We fear what is happening to our health or are angry with ourselves for what we have done and, based on that emotion, we now submit ourselves to do these negative things such as lose, quit, and stop, much like we would punish a child.
Then one of two things occurs. We fail and nothing more really matters. Or we succeed. As we succeed, we start to get confident and somewhat cocky. I haven’t had a cigarette in three days! As we gain confidence, the negative emotions that brought us into the negative control program in the first place start to weaken. And when those negative emotions, the anger and the fear disappear, we go right back to our previous behavior.
Sounds familiar?
To increase our chances for achieving any goal, we need to frame it as a positive goal with a positive outcome. Don’t tell yourself you are going to lose weight. Say, I am going to get into a size M shirt by next year. Instead of quitting smoking, how about I am going to get a fresh, pink new lungs and more money in my pocket. Rather than stop drinking, instead see yourself waking up with a clear head, without a frequent hangover.
We will move more naturally and comfortably toward the achievement of a positive goal. The mind will more readily accept a positive goal and not automatically try to find ways and rationalizations to sabotage us as with a negative goal.
You must be able to distinguish healthy fears from unhealthy ones (such as worrying every time you hear a siren that a loved one has been in an accident). When you can do that, fear is your friend. Until you can do so, however, fear can be an enemy. Figure out what you should fear, and approach the rest with confidence.
What are my unhealthy fears?
How can I make my fear my friend and ally?
Corrupt Bible Versions
One thing I detest: Christians trying to win the “lost” when they are lost themselves; lost in their own gullibleness and naiveness and being blinded and controlled as mindless slaves by equally ignorant preachers with motives other than that commanded by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Being false witnesses which scattereth the lost sheeps further and being tools of the evil one, being “fooled” into thinking its God that they are serving when the Truth is far from it.
The NKJV (New King James Version)
The NKJV is a masterpiece of deception, a counterfeit of the original King James Bible, the authentic Word of God, the Authorized Version.
The NKJV was originally advertised as the fifth revision of the Authorized Version, “carefully updated so that it will once again speak God’s eternal truths with clarity,” subtly insinuating that the King James Bible did not speak God’s eternal truths with clarity. (Why the NKJV, Thomas Nelson Publishers). The Publishers claim that the purpose of publishing the NKJV was to preserve the authority and accuracy of the original King James Bible while making it understandable to the 20th Century readers by updating the grammar, punctuation, archaic words, etc. Smoke-screens!
The finished work was said to be “beautifully clear” and, “highly readable.” The Publishers spent millions to convince the public that the NKJV is the Bible of the present and the future.
More smoke-screens. Let us sweep aside the smoke-screens and take a close look at the book itself.
1. The Source Texts
These are said to be the same basic manuscripts as those used for the King James Bible, namely, the Hebrew Masoretic Text (OT) and the Greek Textus Receptus (NT).
However, careful examination reveals that the NKJV translators put in the footnotes of the study editions the corrupt Critical or Minority Text of Westcott and Hort (from which the corrupt Modern English Versions are derived). It is identified as “NU.” The “N” stands for the Nestle-Aland text. The “U” stands for the United Bible Society text. Both of these texts are dependent largely on the corrupt Vatican and Sinai manuscripts, virtually the same as the Westcott and Hort Greek text of 1881.
2. The Translators
The translators included nine scholars who had been in the NIV translating team, and had been using a different source text (the Critical Text of Westcott and Hort), and a different translation methodology (Dynamic Equivalence), both of which are most corrupt.
The nine NIV translators would most certainly have left the imprint of their deviant philosophy and theology on the NKJV text, and they did.
3. The Technique
The translators professed to adopt the “Complete Equivalence” method, and to shun the corrupt “Dynamic Equivalence” method. Their profession, however, is not matched by their translation, which is replete with the diabolical “Dynamic Equivalence” – men’s corrupt thoughts replacing God’s Words. [For over 2000 instances of this, see B.F.T. #1442 published by The Bible For Today, 900 Park Avenue, Collingswood, New Jersey, USA.]
4. The Theology
The theology of the NKJV translators differed greatly from that of the King James Bible translators. The latter group lived some two hundred years before the rise of modern thought. Their theology was pure and godly, untainted by the godless ideologies which abound today.
The same cannot be said of the NKJV translators. Their theology is certainly inconsistent with that of their King James Bible counterparts. Careful reading of the NKJV text leaves no doubt that the translators’ thinking has been leavened with the leaven of Higher Critical Thought and therefore they did not hesitate to mutilate the Words of God, including the Name of God.
This carefree abandon and reckless handling of God’s Words is seen in the approximate 100,000 word changes in the NKJV text and in the underlying purpose of the Footnotes which will be mentioned below.
To the Believer, God’s Name is Holy and Reverend
“Our Father which art in heaven, hallowed be thy name” (Matthew 6:9).
In this prayer taught by our Lord Jesus we see how we should hold God’s name in highest honor for “holy and reverend is His Name” (Psalm 111:9). “His name shall endure for ever…blessed be His glorious Name for ever” (Ps 72:17,19).
What sort of regard do the NKJV translators have for God’s name? Do they hold it dear and precious, they who claimed to have spent “months of prayer, research, and discussion over the handling of a single word” (Testimony of Thomas Nelson Publishers)? Smoke-screens again!
NKJV Translators’ Disregard for God’s Name
Analysis of the NKJV text reveals the translators’ wanton disregard and disrespect for God’s name. Based on the Logos Research Systems computer program:
1. The word “LORD” is thrown out 56 times out of the 6668.
2. The word “GOD” is ejected 35 times out of the 3878.
3. The word “JEHOVAH” is altogether missing.
How precious is God’s Word to Every Child of God!
To the Psalmist God’s Word is better than “thousands of gold and silver” (Ps 119:72), and he says: “My heart standeth in awe of Thy Word” (Ps 119:161) “for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name” (Ps 138:2)
But the NKJV Translators Dishonor God’s Word
In their so-called “fifth revision” of the King James Bible, the “revisers” brought in about 100,000 word changes (conservative estimate by Dr.D.A Waite in his paper “Defects in the New King James Version”). Based on the Logos Research Systems computer program, compared to the King James Bible, the NKJV changes include the following:
1. The word “heaven” is missing 48 out of 550 times.
2. The word “hell” is thrown out 22 out of 54 times.
3. The word “blood” is deleted 18 out of 375 times.
4. The word “repent” is ejected 11 out of 43 times.
5. The word “new testament” is cast out all 6 times.
6. The word “damnation” is missing all 11 times.
Question: By what authority do these revisers take away the precious Words from God’s Holy Book?
NKJV Translators Dishonor God’s Son
Our Lord Jesus Christ, the Second Person of the Holy Trinity, deserves worship and honor from every true believer. Such honor is diminished by the NKJV translators, as shown below. Which sets of terms gives a higher respect to the Lord Jesus Christ in our present English language?

NKJV Translators Undermine God’s Word with Deadly “Footnotes”
A prominent feature of the NKJV is the addition, in the study editions, of extensive textual footnotes which constantly cast doubt on the Scripture text and call into questions the authenticity of many passages.
What purpose do these “footnotes” serve? For an answer we quote from the NKJV editors:
“It was the editors’ conviction that the use of the footnotes would encourage further inquiry by readers. They also recognized that it was easier for the average reader to delete something he or she felt was not properly a part of the text, than to insert a word or phrase which had been left out by the revisers.” [The New King James Bible, 1982, Study Edition, “The History of the King James Bible,” p.1235.]
What are the NKJV editors saying? Simply this: the footnotes were inserted to encourage the average reader to take up their own editorial scalpel and excise any part which he felt was not properly a part of the text. The NKJV editors have laid God’s Word on the chopping board of human intellect for anyone who feels like it to chop off anything he did not like!
In the foregoing paragraphs we have presented sufficient evidence to prove beyond doubt that the NKJV is another corrupt modern English Bible, masquerading under the cover of the “King James” label.
Other theological errors are beyond the scope of these pages, but they include attacks in the Trinity, the Holy Spirit, and the way of salvation.
We end this brief dissertation with a note on the pro-gay bias and pro-Catholic stance of the translators.
Pro-Gay Bias of NKJV Translators
Among the NKJV translators were nine scholars who had participated in the NIV translation. The NIV team of translators/editors had at least one known pro-gay member and a self-confessed lesbian. A pro-gay bias was shown in the NIV translators’ substituting the word “sodomite” or “sodomites” with “shrine prostitute” or “shrine prostitutes” in the NIV.
In the case of the NKJV the sane words “sodomite” or “sodomites” are rendered “perverted one’ or “perverted persons” in these Old Testament passages; Deuteronomy 23:17; 1 Kings 14:24; 15:12; 22:46; 2 Kings 23:7).
Question: What was the reason why they “wrest” the “Scriptures” (2 Peter 3:16)?
Answer: God’s Word supplies the answer 2 Peter 2:3. “And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you.”
Thomas Nelson Publishers are the biggest Bible publishers in the world. They have reduced God’s Word to a commodity, another item of merchandise to enrich the book people. To tap the gay market the revisers/publishers, have made the NKJV “gay-friendly” removing the offensive word “sodomite.” Both NKJV and NIV are top money spinners. “There are big bucks in Bible business!”
Pro-Catholic Stance of the NKJV Translators
James 5:16:
KJB: “Confess your faults one to another.”
NKJV: “Confess your trespasses to one another.”
Note: “Faults” among the Christians should be confessed “one to another,” but trespasses are sins and should be confessed to God alone.
But the NKJV rendering favors the Roman Catholic Confessional in which trespasses and sins are confessed to the priest.
Conclusion
Having reviewed in some depths, though briefly, one is left in no doubt about the evil nature of this counterfeit “King James” version, the NKJV.
NKJV is a CORRUPT VERSION.
