Modern Time Deception

This letter addresses certain disparity among the different bible versions we have in the world today…and my thoughts and concerns as well as doubts about their credibility in presenting the true Word of God to the masses.

But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
(KJV)Gal 1:8, 9

Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
(KJV)Mathew 7:15

My stand on strictly using the KJV and not other bible translations
1. KJV (King James Version) comes out from the Reformation in the 16th century. For about 300 years only this translation is used, before other translations start to appear exponentially in recent times.
2. The KJV is translated by 16th century martyrs who gave their lives to translate the Word of God from Hebrew to English. One of them, William Tingdale, was caught in 1536 by a spy. His last words before his death at the fiery stake was: That my people will be able to read the bible in English. As opposed to this, bible translators of recent times translate the bible at the comfort of their dwellings, some of whom their salvations are even questionable. Recent and modern bibles are also copyrighted. As far as I know of, only KJV is not copyrighted. As for the implications of the copyright, I leave it to you readers to think for yourselves :)
3. The KJV translators use the “Formal Equivalence” technique to translate the bible. Modern translators use the technique of “Dynamic Equivalence”.(This is very significant indeed, due to my lack of time, I shall address this in my future letters)
4. Vital doctrinal issues are challenged in the other translations. Basically, the issues challenged are: Jesus’ work of redemption, His eternal pre-existence, His deity, His sonship of God, His virgin birth, His resurrection, His ascension and His return. I shall give a few examples of this below.

I believe many of us would think: How could this be? I have been using so-and-so bible translation and it has blessed my life all these while and now you are saying that my bible is erroneous? Who are you to make that kind of statement? Have you been to a bible school before? So why should I listen to you?

Well, my letter is just to address my concerns and thoughts over the issues that have been addressed in my church and I find it important that every Christian should be informed about it. My analogy to this issue is this: Just as counterfeit money looks all right from the outside, and it looks exactly the same as the original…does that mean that it’s authentic? What would the authorities do if they find us with the counterfeit money?

Likewise bible versions and their translations.

Another analogy is: Let’s say we are sick and we see a doctor. The doctor gives us medicine prescriptions to take so that we may be healed of our sickness after taking the prescription. Now just by shifting a dot to move the decimal place (in milligrams for example) or accidentally adding or subtracting a zero to the medicine prescription could mean a life and death issue to the patients…

Likewise bible version and their translations.

Now what does the bible say regarding the word of God?

But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
Mt4:4
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
Isaiah 55:8

Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
1 corinthians 1:25

For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled
Mt5:18

Now another name for the bible is The Word of God, now under what authority are we able to change it to our own liking? Based on our logic or “common sense”? Using the Dynamic Equivalence technique to twist and turn the Word of God? I am aware of many preachers today who have certain ideas in their minds of what they want the church members to believe…now they have no authority to force their opinions on others, cant they? So what they did is based on their “spiritual revelations” they call it, they reinforce their human wisdom by searching for verses in the bible which fits their idea …it’s a win-win situation for them and their excuse for this when confronted is: IT’S THE WORD OF GOD! ITS WRITTEN THERE SEE IT FOR YOURSELF…How naïve indeed, without even looking at the context from which that verse is drawn. This is self-deception that will face the wrath of God in time to come. For the easiest person to deceive is but ourselves indeed…we choose what to believe. How should I put it? It’s likened to an ostrich….ostriches bury their heads into the ground when danger comes, thinking that they would be safe.

Enough for now, let me catch my breaths and show you something interesting.

John 17:5 (Addressing self-glorification issue)
KJV: O Father glorify thou me with thine own self.
NIV: Father glorify me in your presence.

John 9:35 (Addressing Jesus’ deity)
KJV: Dost thou believe in the son of God?
NIV: Dost thou believe in the son of Man?

Acts 3:13 (Addressing Sonship of Jesus)
KJV: The God of our fathers hath glorified His son Jesus
NIV: The God our fathers has glorify His servant Jesus

Lk2:33 (Addressing Virgin birth of Christ)
KJV: And Joseph and His mother marveled
NIV: The child’s father and mother marveled

Mt25:13 (Addressing Jesus’ 2nd coming)
KJV: watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour whereon the Son of Man cometh
NIV: Therefore keep watch because you do not know the day or the hour. (Of what?)

NIV is leavened with the leaven of unbelief. And newly born again Christians must not be led astray by wolves in sheep’s’ skin….

“But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed….”
